The National Accountability Bureau (NAB) has obtained particulars of the properties owned by Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan and his family.
According to sources, the anti-corruption watchdog sought the property particulars of the minister and members of his family from the Rawalpindi earnings division in reference to its ongoing investigation into his property.
The property particulars equipped to the bureau included data on industrial and agricultural land owned by him.
However, the sources relayed that the accountability bureau will search further asset particulars of the minister from the Federal Board of Revenue and the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).
Earlier on May 15, the aviation minister had welcomed the National Accountability Bureau inquiry in direction of him and his family. Speaking on the National Assembly (NA), he had acknowledged he is just not going to criticize the anti-graft watchdog.
After the Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) airplane PK-8303 crashed in May, Ghulam Sarwar had assured that the inquiry into the Karachi plane crash could be clear and the report could be tabled throughout the House on June 22.
Speaking throughout the National Assembly, he Aviation Minister acknowledged that beforehand inquiry experiences of crashes could not come to light and in present events many accidents have taken place, no one has been acknowledged and punished. Someone must be held accountable.
“We are all responsible for this, but we also have to fix things so that there is accountability and such incidents can be controlled in the future,” he acknowledged.
