Famed singer Ali Zafar has filed an FIR in opposition to Meesha Shafi, and eight others for posting defamatory content material materials in opposition to him on their Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram accounts.

The FIR filed by Ali Zafar names Meesha Shafi, Iffat Omar, Ali Gul Pir, Humna Raza, Leena Ghani, Fariya Ayub, Maham Javaid, Syed Faizan Raza, and Haseeemuz Zaman.

They have been booked beneath Section 20 (Offences in opposition to the dignity of a pure explicit individual) of the PECA and Section 109 (Punishment of abetment) of the Pakistan Penal Code.

According to the FIR, “Some persons are using Twitter, Facebook and Instagram account uploading defamatory posts and doing his [Zafar’s] character assassination on social media to damage his reput in society.”

He said that Meesha used her Twitter account to publish derogatory remarks and false allegations in opposition to the complainant on April 19, 2018.

Earlier in November 2018, Ali Zafar had filed a criticism with the FIA cybercrime wing, alleging that many social media accounts had been posting “threats and defamatory material” in opposition to him.

He had provided particulars of some Twitter and Facebook accounts to help his declare.

In April 2018, singer Meesha Shafi took to Twitter to accuse Zafar of bodily harassing her on ‘more than one occasion.’

“This happened to me despite the fact that I am an empowered, accomplished woman who is known for speaking her mind,” she said. 

In response, Zafar filed defamation go effectively with in opposition to Shafi.

Moreover, the Lahore High Court had dismissed an attraction filed by Meesha Shafi in her harassment case in opposition to Ali Zafar.

In the attraction, filed in August 2018, Meesha Shafi had challenged the Punjab authorities’ option to dismiss her criticism in opposition to Zafar whom she has accused of sexual harassment.

Barrister Ambreen Qureshi took to Twitter and shared the data that Meesha Shafi’s case has been dismissed by Lahore High Court and Ali Zafar has been exonerated for the third time by the courtroom docket.

However, Ali Zafar’s partner, Ayesha Zafar had come forward and thanked the whole workforce for combating this case.
